Why a network matters for creators

Many collaborations don’t come from public open calls but from contacts. A marketing manager who worked well with you recommends you or takes you along to her next company. An agency that knows you thinks of you for the next campaign. But a network isn’t a collection of contacts; it’s a set of relationships. It grows slowly, through reliable work, friendly communication and genuine interest in the people behind it. If you only reach out when you want something, you’re not building a network, just a list.

Creator community: why other creators aren’t competition

At first glance, other creators in your niche look like competitors. In practice they are often your best allies. You can swap notes on rates and experiences with brands, develop joint formats or recommend each other when a job doesn’t fit you. Brands often look for several creators at once for campaigns, and a referral from the community can get you a spot. Share openly, but respect confidential agreements with brands. What was agreed in the order chat stays between the people involved.

Connecting with brands on creatordeal

In the creator area, under “Find someone,” you’ll find brands, agencies, management agencies and other creators. You search by role, name, industry or country; every card shows who is behind it. With one click on “Connect” you send a connection request, with a short message if you like. The other side sees your profile and accepts or declines. Only once it’s accepted does the connection exist, and with it a conversation thread of its own in your inbox. This works in both directions: brands and agencies can just as well reach out to you.

Requirements and contact filter

To connect, your account needs a fully completed and approved profile – with profile picture, one-liner, “About you,” country, languages and topics, at least one channel and your three profile images. If anything is missing, the platform tells you exactly which points are still open. You don’t need packages, prices or a payout account for this. Under “Who can send me requests” you decide which roles can send you requests. Networking is available in every plan, and on the free starter plan with a monthly allowance of requests. From contact to booking

A connection is a conversation, not a job. No booking and no obligation arise for either side, and you can withdraw a pending request at any time. If the conversation turns into a collaboration, you go straight from the contact to the profile and the booking, with payment up front to creatordeal and payout after approval. Keep in mind: if your first contact with a brand comes about through creatordeal, the creator agreement says jobs with that brand run through the platform for 12 months from the first contact. After that, you’re free to work together however you like.

Maintain your network without being a nuisance

A network thrives on quality, not quantity. Send connection requests selectively to people you have a real point of contact with, and say why in one sentence. Don’t name a price in the first contact yet; show interest and point to your profile. Reach out when you have something relevant to say, such as a new format or a fitting idea, instead of regularly asking only for work. And stay reachable: reply promptly, even when you decline. A friendly no often leaves a better impression than no answer at all.
